The main problem with conservatives is they don’t conserve anything. That’s all you really need to know as that alone makes all their political posturing utterly worthless. Another problem, and what will be the subject of this post, is that they’re also extremely gullible. Years ago, Vox Day wrote a short but then topical post titled “The Charlie Brown Republicans”. The background of this was the issue of health care reform in the United States and the initially genuinely grass roots “Tea Party” movement. The Republicans were then, as now, pretending to be hard on spending cuts before inevitably caving in exchange for vague promises that are broken and/or a few negligible temporary cuts to tax or spending. As the linked article shows, this game goes back before my birth and unsurprisingly still goes on today.
Conservatives to their credit, have generally stopped falling for promised spending cuts, as the linked article in the post by prominent cuckservative Kevin D. Williamson demonstrates but they still continue to fall for another deception. This comes when any prominent non-conservative says anything even vaguely against the “current thing”. Following this, they will be lauded and immediately trusted by conservatives. A good example is J.K. Rowling who “bravely” believes that men who have (or at least had) a penis, should not be allowed in the ladies room or to participate in female sports. Outside of this single example of moral sanity she is openly left-wing, describes herself as a feminist and otherwise supports transvestitism. Accepting biological reality is then one of the minimum standards for being a conservative — what ever else you may believe. She of course doesn’t want or care about this support and so is no friend to anyone even vaguely right-wing.
Most recently (and currently as of writing), we have the new conservative of circumstance: Elon Musk. He has very quickly pulled away the proverbial football by vociferously defending the corrupt H-1B that it is mainly used to bring in cheap tech workers instead of employing the millions of Americans already available for employment. It isn’t worth getting into the debate about this as the promoters of this program are shameless liars. Musk is one of these liars and certainly one who financially benefits from these programs. He was one of the most prominent figures to come out in support of Trump in the recent US election which is how he became the most recent honorary conservative. Prior to this his “conservative” or “right-wing” credentials had been demonstrated because he bought Twitter (now known as X), and restored many (though not all), of the accounts suspended mostly during the shenanigans of 2020.
As with Rowling, both Musk’s life and public statements should have put to rest any notion that he was one of “our guys” and it was a shame to see so many on even the dissident right believe he would be anything but another resident of the swamp.
The first thing to get out of the way is that all of Donald Trump’s political success was based on his stance on immigration. This is what got him elected and what the American people have wanted addressed for decades. The fact that it remains such a winning issue even after the massive demographic shift across these same decades should be even more telling. Further, this is an issue all over the Western world where against the wishes of the now shrinking majority of the population, mass immigration continues. It also wasn’t just “illegal” immigration that Trump was against as his famous “they’re not sending their best” line among many others well illustrates. This is not up for debate and Trump would have little distinguished himself from other Republican candidates without the issue of immigration — even with his outsider status.
As for Musk himself, how he came to be believed by so many still rather stuns me despite how gullible conservatives tend to be. Musk seems to be a creature (if not another puppet), of the saner but still evil bank of the same fetid swamp. That he supports “free speech” and has posted a few spicy memes on his X platform should do nothing to dispel any of this but here are some other examples.
Outside of his SpaceX program, he is probably best know for Tesla which produces electric vehicles. What passed for the conservative right was once hotly against the great lie that is “global warming” or “climate change”. The electric car is an unnecessary solution to a non-existent problem and Musk has profited from this; not because these cars actually make money but through subsidies from tax payers mostly in the Western world. Were electric vehicles and every other superfluous technology relieved of these incentives, they would likely all fail in what remains of the free market. Thinking about it as I write, his huge financial interest in EVs probably also means Musk will seek to stop any attempt to remove the burden of these tax incentives and subsidies from the American taxpayer.
Musk’s personal life should also have been a major red flag as he makes Trump’s string of divorces look relatively virtuous. One can certainly frown on Trump’s escapades with women but he clearly cares for all the children that have resulted from his multiple marriages. His children have also all grown up well, love him and even his ex-wives still have nice things to say about him. Musk on the other hand, has had at least twelve children. At least one of them is “trans” which in the majority of circumstances, can be blamed on bad parenting particularly on the father’s part. I don’t want to go into the rest but that IVF and surrogacy was involved in a number of births should be further red flags for anyone remotely “conservative”. As well as all this, he has given at a few of his children ridiculous, unpronounceable names which is both narcissistic and evil.
Lastly, his support for transhumanism including his own company Neuralink which experiments with inserting computer systems into the brain. I happened to have just started Neuromancer by William Gibson but I’m also familiar with the cyberpunk genre through novels like Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, the Shadowrun series, The Matrix and most recently CD Projekt’s overhyped Cyberpunk 2077. The cyberpunk genre is universally dystopian yet still appeals to tech fetishists like Musk despite the horrors found within. Any attempt at reality would be considerably worse and yet Musk is prominently involved in bringing these horrors to the world. The underlying motivation for wanting to control and change God’s creation is Satanic at its core and yet many who should know better, have responded enthusiastically to Musk’s political antics over the last few years.
These three examples should demonstrate that Musk was never a man to be trusted and certainly not embraced as some sort saviour for anyone that truly wants to see the swamp drained and American’s put first in their own nation. The swamp will not be drained by any creatures that thrive in it and that someone like Musk has turned snake on Trump’s base before he has even in inaugurated should not surprise anyone.
One final note is to be weary of any figures on the right who come out defending or even just rationalising Musk’s stance. What Musk and creatures like him want is not what the majority of voters wanted. This is very similar to the way the Tea Party movement was almost immediately taken over and steered from its purpose by bad actors.
